Before Kindergarten, there was Mini-K. It was an experimental program where the children were going to be followed all the way to their senior year in high school. The idea was to learn if the kids who went to Mini-K did better in school than kids who didn't go to any type of nursery school. A bus picked up the kids three or four days a week and transported them to the Mini-K where students from SUNY Geneseo, NY majoring in child education, worked with the children under the supervision of the program director. It was a memorable experience, unfortunately the program ran out of funding by the time these kids were in third grade. Oh, well.
These pictures of Robbie were taken during that school year but their quality has diminished over the years. One might come to the conclusion that he was something of a ham in front of a camera and not the shy "little boy blue" he appeared to be when the camera wasn't around. Maybe it was due to his favorite teacher, Miss "Palowski" taking the pictures?
